EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST
Eating breakfast is the best way to kick-start your metabolism of a day. Most of us would grab a bagel on the go but the best is to have a proper breakfast. The best breakfast is a mix of protein, carbohydrates and good fats with a ratio of 60:30:10. For example,
i) boiled eggs + wholemeal toast + peanut butter
ii) tofu + minced meat + noodle
LISTEN TO HUNGER SIGNS
The rule is simple:
If your stomach is growling for food, then feed it but feed it with healthy food.
Same as the theory, STOP eating when you are 80% full.
If you overeat, your body stores the excess calories as fat. If you leave your stomach 80% full, your body will burn the extra 20% off from your body fat. As an accumulation, you will lose weight in a long run.
WATER, WATER, WATER
Water helps the liver to flushes out toxins and burn the fat to energy. Drinks plenty of water so to make your urine pale yellow, it is as good as eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Try to minimize sugary drinks, tea, coffee and fruit juice as dieticians say it will also dehydrate you. Make sure that what you drink is low in sugar, the best is plain water!
PROBIOTICS
Good bacteria available in yogurt and probiotic supplements can help to improve digestion and metabolism. It can also helps in losing weight because the food is digested more efficiently by the good bacteria. Please follow the instructions on the dosage on the probiotic supplements, some people might get diarrhea if over dosage intake.
HOT & SPICY
Capsaicin found in chili peppers may increase metabolic rate for 30 minutes by raising the body’s temperature. Hence, do add some cayenne, paprika or chili to your meal regularly.
